BRIDE: After choosing your dream dress, you will want it to fit perfectly.  I have had many years of experience altering bridal gowns and I understand how important fit is, and to have the perfect bustle for the style of your dress.

HOW THE PROCEDURE WORKS: 9 - 12 Months before your wedding date, you should contact your seamstress and set up appointments for alterations.  Even if you don't have your dress yet, and don't know what it will need in the way of alterations, you should book your spot.  If you have a picture of yourself in the dress, it's a good idea to send me a text with your full name, wedding date and pictures and then I can give you an estimate up front.  If you prefer an in-person consultation before deciding who will do your alterations, you can book an appointment for a more accurate quote. I charge $25 for a 30 - 40 minute consultation appointment.  This will go towards your alterations if you decide to use me. Alterations should begin about 8  weeks before your wedding.  It usually takes 2 to 3 appointments, spaced about 2 weeks apart, and you pick up your dress approximately 2 weeks before the wedding.

I recommend that you don't go out and buy any undergarments or slip until after your first fitting, because very often nothing is required.  I have several corset/bras and slips for you to try on.  SHOES: I can't emphasize enough:  Start the shoe hunt EARLY.  I have lost count of the number of times a bride has bought the gorgeous 4" heels, loves the look but hates how they feel, and then finds herself making exchanges last minute.  It really does disrupt the alterations process, and if it requires an extra fitting, there will be a charge.

MOTHER of the BRIDE or GROOM: It really IS all about the bride, but we all want to look our absolute best and be comfortable on that special day.  I will alter your outfit to meet your needs, be it adding sleeves, or making a matching jacket, wrap or bolero.

 

BRIDESMAIDS: Of all the population groups, my heart goes out to the bridesmaids. There’s the dress, the shoes, the shower and wedding gifts, not to mention the flights. Now multiply that all by, what is it, 5 this year? With that in mind I do my best to make you look your best at the least cost to you.

NOTE TO ALL: As tempting as it may be to try on your dress at home, if you have animals in the house, please don't.  Your dress attracts hair like nothing else!
